We purchased our first longhorns in 1998 and have really enjoyed them. They are a passion and very habit forming. Presently, we have about 40 longhorns including calves in our herd. We're trying to have a very small, quality herd. Around 20 mama cows and a few quality bulls ... with a few yearlings and calves to look at. Here at Blue Mountain Longhorns, we focus on HORNS! We love all the wonderful shapes as long as there is a lot of it. I learned early that in order to produce great horn, there has to be a foundation of great females in my longhorns pedigrees. And that is what we've been striving to accomplish. As you tour our herd you'll notice the tried and proven genetics that we've added to our herd. We feel that it's all starting to come together now.
